About Us

Mission Statement

The purpose of the West High Alumni Association is to promote the interests and welfare of West High School, its students, alumni, faculty, and staff.

The West High Alumni Association (WHAA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that was created in 1986 in order to meet the following two objectives:

• A major part of our program is to provide a scholarship fund for the further education of deserving, graduating seniors.
• Our program is intended to help preserve West High School heritage, foster a positive image, and honor alumni who have gone on to make West High and this community proud.

History of West High School

West High School has a long history dating all the way back to July 19, 1890, when then Salt Lake City Mayor George W. Scott organized the first Board of Education. Click here to read about the history of our school.
